Sri Lanka lifted the five-year ban on private vehicle imports on February 1, 2025. Going back to November 2023, JP Group won a government tender in Sri Lanka for the first time, with its products to be distributed as mobility aids to disabled military veterans. The Group stood out from a host of bidders. Upon receiving the inquiry, the JP team formulated a product solution based on actual user scenarios and the Group’s existing product portfolio, securing the tender quickly and marking the debut of JP products in Sri Lanka.

Two years later, in November 2025, the JP team completed the first round of market research and customer visits, successfully developing clients across the full product spectrum including two-wheel electric vehicles, three-wheel electric vehicles, low-speed electric vehicles and high-speed electric vehicles. On-site signed orders reached USD 1.5 million, with down payments received in December. The success in client acquisition is not only a testament to the team’s on-site business negotiation capabilities, but more importantly, reflects its profound market understanding, accurate grasp of customer needs and sharp market insights. During the preliminary preparation phase for the Sri Lanka market survey, the team had already developed three local clients. Leveraging social media platforms and search tools, it collected key information such as local import policies, tariffs, ocean freight rates, competitor data and the top 10 local importers. Tailored client development strategies formulated based on this information played a pivotal role in client acquisition and business negotiations.

On May 25, 2025, at the Pakistan New Energy Vehicle Show, Lingbao, JP Group’s high-speed electric vehicle brand, made its debut in Pakistan. The former Prime Minister of Pakistan personally attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony, test-drove the vehicles and spoke highly of them.
Going back to October 2024, at the 135th Canton Fair, the JP team met Pakistani businessman Abdul Rehman. Learning that the client’s core business is photovoltaic products with an annual import volume of USD 30 million and that he intended to expand into the automotive sector, the team members provided a detailed introduction to the product configurations, selling points and competitive advantages. Sincerity, professionalism and the strong backing of JP Group won the client over, and an invitation was extended for a factory inspection. In December, the client visited the manufacturing facilities and conducted test rides, signing an initial order for 16 vehicles for trial purposes. By 2025, sales volume of the vehicles had reached 200 units.

On October 30, 2025, a grand product launch event for JP-branded two-wheel electric vehicles was held in Lahore, Pakistan.
Tracing back to May 2024, the JP team conducted its first market research mission in Pakistan, with the JW Group of Pakistan as the first stop. After two days of in-depth business negotiations, a preliminary strategic cooperation intention was reached. Despite facing extreme temperatures of 45 degrees Celsius and security-related travel restrictions, the team visited the top 6 players in the local industry to conduct in-depth discussions on the prospects of the electric vehicle market, key market pain points, tariff reduction solutions and the process for obtaining assembly plant qualifications issued by Pakistani engineering authorities. Following the market survey, a more targeted project proposal was presented to the JW Group. Though the JW Group ranks among the leading enterprises in terms of scale and strength, it has limited knowledge of the electric vehicle industry.

The cooperation with JP Group effectively addresses this gap. Thanks to the joint efforts of both teams, the first year of formal cooperation in 2025 saw the shipment of 3,000 vehicle orders, and a sales target of 20,000 units is set to be achieved in 2026. The partnership between JP Group and JW Group is poised to lead the electric vehicle market in Pakistan.
